A GHL contact actions bar for renewal-day clicks

The GHL contact actions bar puts the tags and fields your service desk touches all day one click away on every contact record: quote requested, renewal at 60 days, cross-sell home, policy details. Your workflows take it from there.

Definition

What can a contact action button do?

In short

Add a tag, remove a tag, toggle a quick tag or open a mini form that writes into custom fields. Anything that should happen next, a text, an email, a task, is done by the GoHighLevel workflow that listens for that tag.

Four buttons a service desk sets up first

Book a policy review

A button that adds a "book policy review" tag; your existing workflow sends the booking link and reminder sequence.

Capture policy details

A mini form for line of business, X-date and current carrier, saved into the contact’s custom fields without opening the edit panel.

Flag a cross-sell

A quick tag such as "cross-sell home" on an auto-only household, picked up by your nurture workflow after the delay you set.

Ask for a review

One click after a smooth claim or a bound renewal adds the review-request tag, so the ask goes out while the moment is fresh.

Setting it up

How to set up the contact actions bar

  1. Switch on the bar

In your design, open Contact actions and turn the bar on. Choose where it sits on the contact record.

  2. Add quick tags

List the tags your team toggles most, such as quote requested, renewal 60 days or cross-sell home, each with its own colour.

  3. Add buttons and mini forms

A button can add or remove tags, or open a short form that writes into custom fields such as line of business or X-date.

  4. Connect your workflows

In GoHighLevel, start workflows from those tags as you already do. The bar just makes the tag one click away.

FAQ

Contact actions bar questions

See it alongside the pipeline board designs in the same package.

What is the GHL contact actions bar?
A small toolbar on every GoHighLevel contact record with buttons and quick tags you define. One click adds or removes a tag, or opens a mini form that writes into custom fields, so staff stop hunting through the tag box and edit panel.
Does it replace GoHighLevel workflows?
No, it feeds them. The bar adds and removes tags or updates fields; your workflows react to those changes exactly as they would if someone typed the tag by hand.
Can a button fill in custom fields?
Yes. A button can open a short form with text, number, date and dropdown fields mapped to your custom fields. In the preview, Policy details shows line of business, X-date and current carrier.
Is this safe for TCPA and consent tags?
The bar only does what you configure, the same as typing a tag. Decide with your compliance process which tags staff may apply by hand, and keep consent capture in the forms and workflows built for it.
Where does the bar appear on screen?
On the contact record, in one of 6 positions (bottom or top, left, centre or right). Staff can drag it aside, and the colours follow your theme or the colours you give each tag.
Does it work with the Insurance Snapshot tags?
Yes. If you run the Insurance Snapshot, point the buttons at its renewal, cross-sell and review tags and the existing workflows fire as usual.
Which package includes the contact actions bar?
Full Cover ($537 once) and the package above it. Essential Cover does not include it.
Is anything saved when I click in the preview?
No. The preview on this page runs the real bar on a sample record, but nothing is stored or sent. Inside GoHighLevel, the contact updates immediately.
